The comments pages around here have been lively all of a sudden, so you can tell me what conclusions I should draw from the following:
The first bad sign was that I thought the post of 4 May 2006 was a good idea. That shall speak for itself.
The second bad sign was in my last two interviews this week, one yesterday and one today. When I got to the end and asked "do you have any questions for me" as I always do, they both immediately asked "Are you ok? You seem pretty tired or upset or something." Followed by a line of questions about work hours, stress, and Life Balance. So I tried to explain that surliness is just part of my natural charm, but let's just say that salesmanship is not my strong suit and I was probably doing the company more harm than good here.
The third bad sign was from one of my many random ICQ girlfriends that was talking to me tonight:

(23:42:55) Cherry: it seems that,u go straightly home,on the line all the time,seldom go out,unless play poker with ur friend,right?
why don't u go somewhere with ur girlfriend or spend time with her?

She actually means "do you live alone," but nonetheless, this Cherry does not pull her punches. Once she asked if I had my pictures online, then came back in a few minutes and told me, "after u leave the university,u are getting pretty fat." Sucks.
