Not much happened. Friday night was so exciting that I don't remember it. CC came over Saturday afternoon for lunch, since he was in town to get his hair cut by the crazy Hawaiian as is his custom. The last time I saw him must have been two years ago, or more. Heard some news about other people from the olden days. It's curious how much information travels this way. The gossip network survives and remains quite efficient even though at least 90% of its links must have been severed after graduation. There can't be more than ten people from college that I have talked to in the last year, in any form. But I probably have a reasonable idea of what at least a hundred are doing, where they are, and so on. I know the reverse is also true, since even people two or three degrees removed will already know anything interesting that has happened to me.
Harry Potter preparation continues at a furious pace (pictured). JM and LS got the idea that they wanted to go to the new movie in full costume, and we don't do anything half assed around here, no sir, so the knitting and sewing and ordering of things on the Internet has kept at least Jen busy for at least two weeks. They will both be wearing Ravenclaw uniforms, although Jen insists that she is not Cho Chang. I will be a Slytherin, which some people will find perfectly appropriate, but in my mind at least, it was because none of us wants red or yellow outfits and I thought we should have at least two Houses represented just for the sake of variety. This will, in fact, be the first time I have dressed up like a nerd for a movie premiere.
Would like to know whether Google wants to hire me or not, since it's hard to do my existing job without knowing whether I am planning to be there for years or just months. Their onsite interview got my hopes up, which I had tried very hard to avoid. I know they spent the last week collecting responses from the people I listed as references, and I know that the last one responded yesterday, so maybe I will be hearing from them soon.
Won two games of poker today, which I don't think has ever happened before. I didn't do anything different really, just was much luckier and actually won half of those hands where I had an even chance of winning. So I guess I can get some extra cheese on my Whopper this week.
